The European Research Council (ERC) Programme funds investigator-driven frontier research and is open to all subject areas i.e. bottom up. The ERC Consolidator Call 2020 will open shortly with a deadline of 4th February 2020. The ERC CoG scheme is aimed at researchers 7-12 years post PhD (or longer in certain cases) who can already demonstrate independent working and extensive research, in addition to important publications. The ERC Consolidator Grant will provide a maximum of 2 million EUR (for up to 5 years) and should support the PI in the strengthening of an already existing research group. Further benchmarks could be monographs, patents, presentations at international conferences or prizes.
The DLE Research Services and Career Development invites all potential applicants to an ERC CoG training workshop. In this workshop all necessary information on how to apply will be provided. An overview of the ERC Programme and the ‘essentials’ with regards to writing the proposal will be presented. In addition, the event will include presentations from two successful Consolidator Grantees on their experiences with regards to writing the proposal and the ERC interview process. The event will take place on Thursday 21st November from 10-12 in Seminar Room 2, Berggasse 7 (second floor).
