Aurora Graldi: UC Berkeley South Asia Art & Architecture Dissertation Prize for 2021

Aurora Graldi (ehemaliges Mitglied des Initiativkollegs CIRDIS und Prae-Doc Assistentin bei Deborah Klimburg-Salter am Institut für Kunstgeschichte) wurde für ihre Dissertation mit dem Titel "Transforming the Buddha. A biography of the monumental Buddha of Guita Bahī, Lalitpur, and its implication for the Nepalese school of sculpture in metal" (Betreuer*innen: Deborah Klimburg-Salter und Martin Gaenszle) mit dem UC Berkeley South Asia Art & Architecture Dissertation Prize for 2021 ausgezeichnet.

Atreyee Gupta, Mitglied des Preiskomitees, begründete die Entscheidung folgendermaßen:
"Aurora Graldi’s meticulous study on the Guita Buddha offers many valuable insights on Nepalese Buddhist sculptural traditions. Graldi not only contributes to a better understanding of Buddhist iconography but also illuminates important technical aspects of image making."

Die Historisch-Kulturwissenschaftliche Fakultät gratuliert hierzu ganz herzlich!
